Advent is here, and like so many of you we switch modes for the season. I typically give the band and praise team the season off, so they won’t officially meet again until 2008. Yesterday morning was pretty much straight old-school Christmas caroling, so no innovation or pushing of the boundaries. The choir did preview a song from our musical coming up in two weeks. We did Crowder’s “O Praise Him,” and it went well, even though I was missing about 1/3 of the choir. In the afternoon, we got 5 hours of practice, pizza and Veggie Tales in with the Children’s Choir. Their musical will be presented next Sunday morning. Thank goodness we have one more rehearsal on Wednesday!
Here’s the set list from yesterday:
- Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus // Wesley & Prichard
- O Come, O Come Emmanuel // Psalteriolum Cantionum Catholicarum
- Emmanuel // Bob McGee
- O Come, All Ye Faithful // John Francis Wade
- Silent Night // Mohr & Gruber
