- Numbers 11:25 = “this was the only time this happened”…interesting
- Numbers 11:26-29 = a good lesson for today’s church leadership
- Numbers 11:33-35 = not a plague in the sense of disease, but death by gorging on animal meat after a diet of only manna—another example of sin being its own reward/punishment
- Numbers 12:3 = “Moses was more humble than any other person on earth.”
- Numbers 12:6-8 = God had a very special relationship with Moses
- Numbers 12:11 = Aaron gets it right in his confession
- Numbers 13:3 = the spies were all leaders
- Numbers 13:16 = Joshua renamed from a generality to a specific
- Numbers 13:20 = “enter the land boldly”
- Numbers 13:30 = optimist
- Numbers 13:31 = pessimists
- Numbers 14:1-3 = many of our church conflicts are caused by a lack of faith—we can’t see how something will occur )we doubt God) and begin to complain against those with vision and choose to go our own way
- Numbers 14:10 = stone the visionaries!!!
- Numbers 14:13-25 = the Lord can be pleaded with for mercy
- Numbers 14:44-45 = Smackdown!
- Numbers 15 = even though the current generation was denied the Promised Land, God still continued to prepare His people
- Numbers 15:17-29 = we can’t just let unintentional sin slide, it has to be dealt with too
- Numbers 15:30-31 = OUCH!
- Numbers 15:37-41 = like a WWJD bracelet
- Numbers 16 = rebellion against holy leadership simply because of wanting to not be bossed around. They didn’t want to be “just” servants, they wanted to be leaders. They didn’t see service as equal in worth to leadership.
- Numbers 16:12-17 = false accusations against Moses
- Numbers 16:18-20 = the chief instigator “stirred up the entire community against Moses,” making his private sin public, and causing those he “stirred up” to sin along with him
- Numbers 16:22 = Moses moves God’s heart again
- Numbers 16:33 = buried alive
- Numbers 16:34 = burned alive
- Numbers 16:36-38 = redeeming power of God, the profaned made holy
- Numbers 16:41 = they started complaining again the very next day!
- Numbers 16:47-48 = Aaron’s actions foretell the work of Christ
- Numbers 17:5 = as if everything God had done through Moses and Aaron wasn’t proof enough
- Numbers 17:7 = almonds!
- Numbers 18:5 = follow the Lord’s instructions
- Numbers 18:7 = I wonder if we really have any concept of the holiness of God?
- Numbers 18:15-19 = part of the purpose of offerings was to meet the needs of the ministers
- Numbers 18:25 = even the ministers were to tithe—set aside the best portions
- Numbers 19 = the Lord (I think) emphasizes that He is the Lord of life. Death is an unclean thing to Him and His people
- Numbers 20:2 = rebellion is never the solution to lack of necessities
- Numbers 20:6 = Moses and Aaron constantly proved they loved the people
- Numbers 20:12 = the price of disobedience often results in a lesser blessing, or the removal of a blessing
- Numbers 20:29 = they mourned Aaron even though they constantly rebelled against him as God’s chosen priest
- Numbers 21:4-7 = don’t complain about the blessings of God, nor call His goodness “wretched,” you won’t like the results
- Numbers 21:8-9 = look to the Lord who is your Healer
- Numbers 21:17 = “spring up, o well”
- Numbers 22:8-20 = Balaam starts out on the right track
- Numbers 22:22 = why was God angry at Balaam doing what He told him to do?
- Numbers 22:29 = Balaam doesn’t seem shocked that the donkey suddenly talks
- Numbers 22:34 = Balaam still seems to be on the right path so far
- Numbers 22:38 = “I have no power to say just anything. I will speak only the messages that God gives me.”
- Numbers 23:8 = “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned?”
- Numbers 23:19 = “God is not a man, that He should lie. He is not a human, that He should change His mind.”
- Mark 14:24 = “all of you will desert Me”
- 14:29 = Peter—foot-in-mouth disease
- 14:31 = don’t be too hard on Peter, all the other disciples vowed the same
- 14:38 = “Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you.”
- 14:56 = false witnesses contradict each other
- 14:55-59 = false charges and lies
- 14:61 = Jesus refused to answer false accusations
- Mark 15:2 = Jesus admits His kingship, but does not invoke its power or priviledge
- 15:15 = the essence of non-leadership: “Pilate, anxious to please the crowd”
- 15:40-41 = women who had cared for Jesus
- 15:43 = Joseph was “waiting for the Kinging of God to come”
- Mark 16:1 = still caring for Jesus
- 16:7 = “including Peter”
- 16:9-20 = “Longer Ending”
- Luke 1:3 = “Having carefully investigated all of these accounts from the beginning, I have decided to write a careful summary for you, to reassure you of the truth of all you were taught.”
- 1:5-25 = there, in the example of Zechariah, Elizabeth, and the praying crowd, is evidence of faith (true faith, not Pharisaic) still existing among God’s people.
- 1:29 = Mary was “confused and disturbed” from being visited by an angel. Wouldn’t you be too?
- 1:38 = Mary: “I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever He wants.” The essence of true servanthood
- 1:46-55 = The Magnificat
- 1:63-64 = the rewards of obedience
- 1:68-79 = the long-awaited promises are about to begin. What an awesome time to have lived in!
- Psalm 53:1 = definition of a fool: someone who says there is no God
- Psalm 54:1, 4, 7 = Rescuer; Defender; Helper; Keeper; Rescuer
- Psalm 55:8 = I could give up and run away
- 55:12-14 = the worst enemy is a former friend, especially one who has turned from God
- 55:20-21 = the nature of a false friend
- 55:22 = the care of God for the godly
- Psalm 57:10 = “Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds” Someboy should write some songs about this

Proverbs 11:1 = God loves honesty, hates cheating - 11:2 = pride=disgrace; humility=wisdom
- 11:7 = the wicked rely on their own feeble strength
- 11:9 = evil word destroy friends
- 11:12-13 = a person with good sense remains silent; a gossip goes around revealing secrets
