It’s 4 in the morning, and I’m still up. I tried to lie down and sleep around Midnight, which is actually early for me. I felt horrible all day today, but I’m surprising feeling pretty fine right now.
Why am I up? It’s more than just insomnia, I’ve got a lot on my mind. I’ve got the Lord on my mind, I’ve got my church family on my mind, I’ve got my community on my mind, I’ve got the future on my mind. Pretty heavy stuff.
My mind is filled with the kernels of ideas, both things that were already on my To-Do list for post-Easter, and some that are brand new tonight. Here’s a little bit of what’s going on in my noggin.
- Music Ministry Retreat is now less than a month off. This year’s theme: Worship Renewal.
- A blog post on worship (what else) is mulling around.
- I’m working on ideas for my blog’s Worship Leader Round-table.
- Seeds of a Bible study are forming.
- An idea about launching a new church prayer team.
- Organizing a community “hymn sing.”
- Community praise and worship “concerts.”
- Starting a multi-church praise band (like Klampert).
- Planning a church Ministry Fair.
- Planning music for the next month’s worth of the iLife series.
- Identifying “unofficial” leaders within our fellowship.
- Planning a lighting solution until our insurance company decides to pay up.
- Getting our Visitor Hospitality Room up and running.
- Reconstituting our worship planning team.
- Planning a Summer worship ensemble.
- Reorganizing music schedules for Summer and Spring.
There’s an audio engineer coming to the church at 9 am for a site survey, and I’m moving a piano around 2 pm.
Sleep? That can wait! What are you up to?
