Hey everyone, welcome to your work week. We had lots of participation in last week’s Monday Minute, thanks a bunch! Let’s do it again. This doesn’t take long. Take about a minute and chime in with your own 2¢.
What song(s) has been constantly going through your head lately?
I’ll start.
I’ve had my own special blend of three Hillsong United tunes making melody in my heart this week. Fire Fall Down, The Stand and Saviour King.
These may be among the best worship songs I’ve ever heard. Period.

New Day by The Robbie Seay Band
and
Don’t Give Up by Steve from Blues Clues from Blues Musical. My 3 year old has been singing this song NONSTOP all day. I might need counseling…
Come Into The Holy of Holies
You Won’t Relent by Misty Edwards
Every Breath by Gateway Worship
(This last song works really well going right before Hosanna by Hillsong United which happens to be a new favorite for my 6 year old son)
I totally agree with you about Saviour King. Of all the worship songs I have heard in my lifetime, the lyrics are such a declaration like no other. Such hope, faith and love wrapped up in one song.
The opening to Saviour King makes me fall to my knees every single time I can sing it.
Now, if we can single the original 12 minute All Of The Above version in corporate worship, that would be something else.

Don’t Give Up by Sanctus Real
and
What Do I Know of Holy by Addison Road.
Not sure why, but the Addison Road song has completely lodged itself in my head. Awesome song.

They are great songs!

“Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “My Hope Is You”. Seriously. I’d like to loop the first 8 bars or so to the first in order to intro the second during worship some time.

“I Boast No More” by Sandra McCracken. I wrote about this on my blog post today, covering our Sunday set list at Sojourn. It’s such a great text (by Isaac Watts) and Sandra’s melody is simple but effective.
And actually, thinking about that song has made me dig out her CD, “The Builder and the Architect” and listen to several other great songs again, including “Grace Upon Grace” and “Awake My Soul.”

Crackers! I need to check my own blog earlier in the day.
Kat, I’m looking forward to absorbing RSB’s new one. I’ve got it on my iPod, but haven’t been able to really give it a good listen yet.
Joe, good songs. I’m going to have to buy me a copy of Gateway’s stuff. The new CD comes out this week right? I completely agree on Saviour King, and that would be quite the worship set. I think I would be OK with a worship set of nothing but that one song.
Ron, hate to say it, but I’m not a big Sanctus Real fan. Can’t tell you why, it’s something intangible that turns me off. Unreasonable, I know. Now Addison Road’s new stuff = brilliant. I love it when women sing with passion and fire.
Jim, I don’t know those. I’ll look them up.
Rick, a little U2 goodness, eh?
Klampert, nice. Now I gotta go read your latest post. I’m intrigued.
Bobby, another post I need to read. I’m not familiar with that song either. *Sigh* Too many songs, not enough time.
Who’s next?
The song i’ve been singing for a while is God is Love by Lee McDerment

Scott, yeah Lee’s new album is pretty much burning up my iPod lately.
Billy, I love that song. I just walked into my daughter’s room last night and she was blasting the song and singing at the top of her lungs. Awesome.
WorshipCity, hmmm…, I’m a loser. Don’t know that one.
Fred, stink, now that song is stuck in my head!
a strange combination of “hide & seek” by imogen heap and “God of this City” by Tomlin.
Jeff I dare you to go find Young Folks it’s by Peter Bjorn and John. You’ll either love it and sing it all day or hate it and then hate me for suggesting it
I think Crystal is my new best friends! Imogen Heap AND God of this City! Greatness!

Crystal, Imogen and Tomlin together. That does create some strange visions in my head.
WorshipCity, I’ll look for it and give it a listen. Let’s now see if WC will continue to be my blog friend.
It does come out but next week on the 10th.
