Well, after last week’s near-death feeling while conducting the choir, I felt bright and springy yesterday. Attendance was a little low, but we had many of our visitors from Easter and the previous weeks return for another look. It looks like there’s another influx as usually happens in the Spring. Some of the visitors I saw were definitely unashamed worshipers, and that made me put all that much more heart into the leading. We’re firing our iLife series back up after Holy Week, and we studied the spiritual discipline of Simplicity, and so I put a little different spin on things for the morning. There were pointed Scripture reading Our lead guitar and bass players were unavailable, so the band was inadvertently forced into simplicity. The three of us who were there, along with singers, were pretty tight. Here’s the set-list:
- We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise (80s old-school praise and worship)
- We Have Come to Join in Worship (even older-school praise with a little rock-drum flair throw in)
- All Creatures #2 (St. Francis of Assisi, David Crowder)
- Blessed Be Your Name (Matt Redman)
- Doxology (Thomas Ken, David Crowder)
- Majesty (Here I Am) (Martin Smith)
For our special music, we had one of our ladies sing one of my favorite medleys from Watermark, In the Garden/There is None Like You. How was your Sunday?
