I had a whirlwind of a weekend. You know how you can schedule things weeks to months in advance, not realizing there will be a convergence? That’s exactly what happened to me. Months ago I scheduled our yearly music retreat, and had to take this last weekend because of conference space availability. A few weeks ago, we scheduled our first ever ministry fair.
I didn’t realize until just about a week ago that the two events would take place on the same weekend. I think this happened because there was no conflict. The retreat was a Friday-Saturday event, while the fair was a Sunday event. So, in my mind since there was no conflict of schedule, I didn’t think about how stinkin’ tired I would be by the time it was all over.
Long story short, the music retreat was great. I had a small group who spent the weekend talking about ways to enhance our corporate worship, and ways to more pointedly reach the unchurched surrounding us in our community. The fair also went very well. I have a stack of sign-up sheets sitting right in front of me, and most of them are half full or more with names of volunteers for ministry. There were many members who volunteered for ministry for the first time. That’s a great thing.
I spent the rest of my Sunday sitting in my easy chair feeding my new, growing addiction. If you are one of my Twitter peeps, it’s your fault that I’ve started watching Lost online from the beginning. I just got tired of hearing all the Lost talk on Twitter, and decided to take the plunge. I’m about halfway through Season 1, and though I would say I’m not hooked yet, I’m very intrigued by the show so far.
Your turn. How was your weekend?

Fellow Lost-junkie here, too.
It does not disappoint. The Season 1 finale is still one of my all-time fave episodes. When you are caught up, we should compare notes because Season 4 is blowin’ my mind.
really.
RE: LOST
I’m with Jen on this one… Season One was amazing and sucks you in from the beginning.. Gets a little slow in the following seasons (though still worth watching) but this current season has been amazing so far!
Rock on Twitter too! Definitely addictive.
