worshipconfessional Worship Confessional: September 21, 2008

We had a great day yesterday. I had more answer to my prayer about choir, and we had an 80% full choir loft in addition to a full complement of praise team singers yesterday. It was SO great to hear the choir behind me again during worship. It add so much to the overall experience. I feel like those of us who are on stage play and sing better. The congregation sings out a whole lot better when there is a choir as well.

We had people walk the aisle yesterday, which is always wonderful to see. Folks dealing with stuff with the Lord, joining the church—it was great. It was the third week—and probably the toughest Scripture wise—of our “The Lord is My Shepherd” series.

As a side note, I’m out of choir books if all the people who said they’re coming to choir rehearsal all show up. What a great problem. I also may have a full set of actually manly-men sitting in the bass section this Christmas season. When men step up and take the lead to serve in necessary positions, you’d better watch out.

I also got a “lead” on a new guitar player, and there’s another youth that might step up to percussion/drums. I love that kind of news.

Our new church website should launch in the next 48 hours or so. I hope I can get all the back end switching of emails done correctly the first time. We’re switching to a complete Gmail hosted system. I’ve also got to format to mp3 yesterday’s sermons and get them loaded. Our new site has a Sermon Player that we’re really excited about offering to our people.

Here’s the list from yesterday.

  • My Savior’s Love // Charles Gabriel
  • He Lives // Alfred Ackley
  • All the Way My Savior Leads Me // Fanny J. Crosby, Chris Tomlin
  • I Need Thee Every Hour // Annie Hawks, Robert Lowry (P&W version)
  • Come Let Us Return to the Lord // Matt Redman

This is also a part of Sunday Setlists at FredMcKinnon [dot] com.
